EXANTE GatisEglitis is one of the co-founders of EXANTE. He has been a key member of the global investment company’s business development team, and he is currently in the role of Executive Director.
Founder and background
GatisEglitis is the Executive Director of EXANTE. Born and raised in Latvia, he has a Bachelor of Science in International Economic Relations from the University of Latvia. He also has a master’s degree in finance from the same university. Additionally, Eglitis gained a second master’s degree in strategic management and finance from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
Eglitis first began his career at the Danish investment bank Saxo, first as an Institutional Sales Trader. He then later worked his way up to become an Institutional Business Sales Manager. This helped Eglitis gain a vast amount of experience in global business development in an investment environment. His time working at Saxo also helped him familiarise himself with the financial markets on a professional level.
Working at EXANTE
Eglitis founded EXANTE alongside Anatoliy Knyazev and Alexey Kirienko in 2011 in Malta. This was while Eglitis was a member of the executive and investment committee in the country. When it was founded, EXANTE quickly changed the game for domestic market participants. This was because at the time, it was the first and only broker in the region that would provide global market access, and it was also built on a strong trading infrastructure.
In the first few years of EXANTE being established, Eglitis played a key role in turning the brokerage firm from a local service to a global player, thereby connecting investors and markets from all over the world. Eglitis’ professional experience in the financial markets and his expertise in dealing with a lot of complex financial instruments helped him to connect with other seasoned investors. These particular investors sought out investing in statistical equity arbitrage, credit derivatives, and futures investing. As a result, EXANTE changed to become a cutting-edge broker that could meet all these advanced needs and strategies.
In 2016, Eglitis became EXANTE’s Managing Partner and was directly responsible for its business development and strategic planning. During his time working at EXANTE, he did not just focus on high-profile customers. Instead, he also paid equal attention to transforming the brokerage firm into a one-stop shop for traders of all experience levels. This was because Eglitis understood that it was important that EXANTE did not alienate any group of investors. Regardless of if a client made thousands of trades a day or preferred to buy and hold a small number of investments instead, EXANTE would still provide them with personalised services.
Today, EXANTE is considered one of the leading brokers not only in the region but also around the world. It offers a diverse and impressive range of over 600,000 instruments across more than 50 global markets. This covers stocks, commodities, currencies, bonds, derivatives and more. Clients can trade from a single multi-currency account from almost anywhere in the world, and the broker has a bespoke trading platform that is designed to deliver a superior trading experience.
EXANTE is also regulated in all regions that it operates in. This includes the MFSA in Malta, the SFC in Hong Kong, the CySEC in Cyprus, and the FCA in the UK. The broker is also compliant with the MiFID II framework, which aims to regulate financial markets in the EU and improve protections in trade execution operations.
EXANTE has been noticed and rewarded over the years for its efforts. For instance, the brokerage firm has won many industry awards and has been recognised by some prominent financial and technology organisations globally. In 2023, EXANTE was named the best trading and investment solution provider in the UK by the Gazet International Magazine. Its commitment to transparency in trading and diversity also saw it being recognised at the 2023 Ethical Finance Awards. EXANTE also took away the Best Multi-Asset Financial Services Firm and Global Capital Market Access Experts of the Year award.
